Artwork Care
My ceramic artworks are handmade individually and are intended to be treated as pieces of art.
Handling
Please handle ceramic artwork carefully and avoid dropping, knocking or applying unnecessary pressure to delicate areas. Some sculptures may contain thin, protruding or otherwise delicate elements. Please support the main body of the piece when moving it rather than lifting it by these areas.
Display
Place artwork on a stable, level surface that is appropriate for its size and weight. Keep ceramic artwork away from locations where it could easily be knocked over. Unless specifically stated otherwise, my sculptures are intended for indoor display.
Cleaning
Dust can be removed gently using a soft, dry cloth or soft brush. Avoid abrasive cleaning products, harsh chemicals and rough sponges, which may damage the surface or finish. Do not immerse artwork in water unless the individual product description specifically states that this is appropriate.
Functional use
Unless the individual product description specifically states otherwise, my sculptural ceramics are not intended for food preparation, food storage or drinking. Do not use sculptural pieces as vases, planters or other functional objects unless the product description specifically states that they are suitable for that purpose. Where an artwork has specific care or use instructions, those instructions take precedence over this general guidance.
Temperature and environment
Avoid exposing ceramic artwork to sudden or extreme changes in temperature. Do not place artwork directly beside sources of intense heat.
Handmade characteristics
Small variations in colour, glaze, texture and surface are part of the handmade nature of ceramic artwork. These characteristics are part of the individual character of each piece and do not necessarily indicate damage or a fault.
Damage
If an artwork is damaged, please contact me at leahjordanart@gmail.com. If the damage occurred during delivery, please retain the packaging and contact me as soon as reasonably possible.
